The market outlook will also be even wider.
Polyester microfiber unique to increase the difficulty of dyeing
According to Professor Mao Zhiping, polyester-fibres microfibers are classified into three types: island-type, orange-flavored silk and spun-wire.
The most significant feature of polyester-dyed microfibers is that their single-fiber denier is much lower than that of ordinary fibers. The garments made of polyester microfibers are comfortable, beautiful, warm and breathable, have good drape and fullness, and have obvious advantages in hydrophobicity and antifouling properties.
Prof. Mao Zhiping explained that polyester microfibre will encounter many technical difficulties in the printing and dyeing process. Take the case of PET island ultrafine fiber imitation suede as an example. First, the dyeing depth is poor, due to the surface area of island-type microfibers. Larger than conventional polyester fiber, resulting in a large amount of reflected light on the surface of the fiber, and the shaded color of the dyed fabric is related to the reflected light on the surface of the fiber and the refracted light returning to the outside from the inside of the fiber. Therefore, under the same amount of dye, the island Microfibers have a much lighter color depth than conventional polyester fibers. The second is poor color fastness, which is also due to the fact that the surface area of microfibers is many times larger than that of conventional polyester fibers. In the case of the same amount of dye, the amount of dye per unit area is much lower. To achieve the same apparent depth, the dye Should also be increased by the same proportion, resulting in doubled growth of the amount of disperse dyes, the color fastness decreased significantly. Third, poor level dyeing, disperse dye uptake rate and fiber radius and surface area related to ultra-fine fibers because of the small linear density, surface area, dye adsorption rate, easy to produce uneven dyeing. These above-mentioned factors impose higher requirements on the technical level of dyestuff manufacturers and printing and dyeing enterprises of polyester microfiber fabrics.
Special dyes for polyester microfibre continue to improve
In the 1990s, the leading foreign dye manufacturing enterprises first developed dyeing products for the characteristics of polyester microfibers with their strong R&D capabilities, such as DyStar's Aikonik MF, CC, ETD, and AM series. And Huntsman's Trust CR series, these dyes and their associated printing and dyeing processes have solved the problems of dyeing depth and poor level dyeing of polyester microfiber fabrics in the printing and dyeing process. They are used exclusively for polyester microfibers at home and abroad. The disperse dye market has gained a dominant position.
Since 2000, domestic dye enterprises have continuously improved their products and application processes based on a series of defects in the domestic application of imported products, and eventually independently researched and developed special dye products for polyester microfibers, such as Annoqol's Anodkron DRD. Series, ERD series, HRD series, etc., and Longsheng's LRD series, the dyeing performance of these products has reached or exceeded similar foreign products, its cost performance is more prominent, and the market share has expanded rapidly since 2003.
At present, in the special disperse dyes market for polyester microfibers in China, multinationals such as Desalta, Huntsman, Klein, Duowen account for about 20% of the market share. Their customers are mainly foreign high-end fabric buyers or designated dye brands. Buyers, but its market share is declining year by year; Domestic Longsheng, Bauxite, Yabang, Jihua and other above-scale dye manufacturers, their products are mainly polyester disperse dyes, the production capacity is huge. The microfiber dyestuff is mainly supplied with peach skin. Its market share and positioning are relatively stable and clear. It has been maintained at the level of 30% to 40%. The domestic professional dyestuff production enterprises represented by Annuo Company rely on Its unique advantages in the new textile fiber and fabric segment markets, such as microfibers, are dominated by featured products and first-class technical application services, and it has developed high lifting, high wash fastness, and high sun exposure. Special dyes for polyester microfibers have a promising market
According to relevant sources, domestic ultra-fine fiber production will increase at an annual rate of 9%. By 2013, the domestic annual output of polyester microfibers will reach 460,000 tons, of which suede suede, imitation jeanette and artificial silk will be used. The production of ultra-fine fibers such as high-end clothing and home textile fabrics will reach about 250,000 tons. Professor Mao Zhiping believes that with the increase of industry concentration and the appearance of more functional dyeing requirements for the characteristics of ultra-fine fibers, the market size of special disperse dyes for polyester microfibers in China will also gradually expand. According to industry statistics, 1 ton of polyester microfiber fabrics generally require 20 to 80 kilograms of disperse dyes, depending on the different requirements for dyeing and deep-drying performance. Among them, sea-island microfiber fabrics have high washing and high light fastness requirements. High-end fabrics will consume more dye. According to Professor Mao Zhiping’s estimation, with the development of domestic polyester fabrics towards differentiation and functionalization, the demand for special disperse dyes for polyester microfibers in China will increase at a rate of 15% per year, and domestic demand will reach 15,000 tons by 2013.
